Brazilian Keratin Treatment

DO’S (Before Shampoo)

1.Do wear hair down all the time.

2. Do use a blow dryer if the hair becomes wet during the initial three or four days development period following  the Treatment.

3. Do use a flat iron to re-straighten areas where needed.

4.Do use a silk scarf or Gripas to preserve the straightness of the hair during the three or four day development period.

DO’S (After Shampoo)

1.Do use shampoos and conditioners that are sodium chloride and sulfate free; preferably the Marcia Teixeira, Pureology, or Agadir Argan Oil, that prolong the results of the treatment.

2. Do style as desired.

3. Do enjoy your beautiful, smooth, shiny, and frizz-free hair!

DON’TS(Before Shampoo)

1. DON’T wash the hair for three of four days so that the treatment can develop fully.

2. DON’T tie the hair into a pony tail or braid. Either can create unwanted dents, weaves or curls.

3.DON’T use hair clips, hair bands or bobby pins, since these can affect the straightness of the hair.

4.DON’T sweat excessively. Avoid working out and or swimming during the three or four day development period.

5. DON’T put your hair behind your ears or use glasses to hold it back.

KEEP NATURAL HAIR STRAIGHT

RELAXED IN TRANSITION, NATURAL

Once you have three inches of new growth, train the hair to remain straight with the help of a ceramic ion flat iron and moisturizing styling products.

If you are growing out your relaxer, consider a sewn-in weave until you have enough new growth to train your hair.

The Beleza “Dominican” Blowout

Beleza Couture Studio offers everything from haircuts, blowouts, and contemporary creation of extraordinary highlights and coloring. The team is always exploring fresh ideas and researching new techniques – they are extremely versatile and committed to being the best hair salon in Durham, NC. Our team of stylists  are Aveda trained.

The key to a Dominican Blowout is having the right tools:

1. Magnetic Rollers: Make sure to inform your stylist if you would like your hair to be rolled.
2. A round brush and/or  denman boar bristle brush.
3. A blow dryer with a nozzle at the end. The concentration nozzle helps to direct the heat.The hair should be 80% dry before applying a blow dryer to the hair.The heat from the blow dryer “opens the cuticle and allows a style to be formed”.  Finishing a section with a blast of cool/cold air from the blow dryer will help to close the newly created texture or lock in the straightness of the section.   The quality of your blowdryer makes the difference between a blowout  and a dominincan blow out. Directing the air flow “down the hair shaft” is key
4. Products- Quality products are very important such as Pureology,

Properly blow drying hair can add shine and smooth frizz, but only if it is done the right way with the correct styling tools and products. Improper blow drying can aggravate the problem and make hair brittle, dry, and even more unmanageable. The best way to blow dry hair is to use an ionic dryer. Ionic blow dryers add ions into the hair to smooth it and add shine, whereas traditional blow dryers fry the hair and make it look dull and lifeless. Never point the end of the blow dryer up into hair from the bottom, as this will split hair follicles and aggravate frizzy hair.

The best way to get completely frizz-free hair is to use a flat iron to minimize any remaining troublesome frizz. High-quality flat irons are ceramic or ionic so they don’t burn your hair and they infuse more ions to create a shinier look.
